Message from Chair
Dear all,
As chairperson of the NEPAS-nutrition subspeciality chapter, I extend my warmest greeting to all members. Established for the first time, this chapter is committed to advancing pediatric nutrition in Nepal through strategic initiatives and collaborations. Our vision is a nation where every child receives optimal nutrition for healthy growth and development. Inspired by the guiding principles of Nepal’s national nutritional policy and the recommendation, our chapter strives to strengthen the dimensions of pediatric nutrition. To achieve this vision, our mission is to establish a dedicated committee focused on research, training, publication of informative booklets and creation of short videos for dissemination of critical information on nutrition. We aim to strengthen collaboration with relevant agencies involved in nutritional activities and encouraging effective coordination. By aligning with national nutrition plans, we aspire to ensure the provision of basic services in an inclusive and equitable manner. Our goals are ambitious, yet achievableOur goals are ambitious yet achievable. They include conducting surveys and research to identify nutritional risks, advocating for capacity building, and providing training in essential areas such as malnutrition management, optimal feeding practices, food diversity, breast-feeding practices, breast milk storage practices, growth monitoring and assessment, healthy dietary habits, and nutritional education, including training for school teachers. Additionally, we aim to support the integration of nutrition into life-skills education.Through these efforts, we aim to empower health workers and communities, promoting a culture of nutrition that supports the health and well-being of our children. Join us in our mission to make pediatric nutrition a priority and ensure a healthy future for all children.
