Message from President
We have grown tremendously since our establishment in 1981. We are already an active participant as a technical advisory group in many programs/ activities of the ministry of health. I want to assure you that I will try my level best to improve our ties with the government so that NEPAS becomes a mandatory partner to all the child health policies and advocacies. Over the years of our establishment, we have grown into stalwart organization for Child rights, Child Health and Voice of Children. Being a professional society of paediatricians, improving paediatric education and continued professional development of paediatricians is our foremost duty. Over the last few years, we have started a number of activities to this regard. I can promise to you all that we will work further on this issue and try to establish an accredited CPD program within NEPAS for all our fellow members in close association with Nepal Medical Council. Over the next years, we will focus heavily on communication and collaboration both within the society and with other professional organizations involved in providing care to children.
Membership is the back bone of any organization. I request the members to enroll maximum Paediatricians to our organization to garner a unified voice of all paediatricians in the country.
It is my firm belief that a pediatrician’s duty is to be an advocate of children and not just look after the illnesses of children. Pediatricians should also increase their involvement in all child health issues related consultations and decision making processes. I call on all pediatricians of the country and across the world to be “Agents of Change” to fulfill the dream of “Healthy Children for a Healthy World.”
Dr. Ganesh K. Rai
President – Nepal Pediatric Society (NEPAS)
